A Holly Jolly Running Playlist for Christmas with a gift for you
Christmas is in the air and everywhere you can hear Christmas music playing, so of course, you can expect a Christmas running playlist from me as well. I tried to keep this running playlist interesting and included some traditional holiday songs, some new songs and some of the funny holiday songs. I wanted to give some back to my readers, so I included some free songs on this running playlist (free on amazon – can change anytime at their discretion) but you’ll have to “unwrap” them by going to amazon and checking which ones are free for yourself… This playlist is 40 minutes long, and averages out at 144 BPM. 10k Running Playlist of the week: 12-23-2010
Another Thursday, another 10k running playlist. This one is a slower one, since it’s holiday season and I’m sure we’re all full of “holiday cheer” and need some time to recuperate. This running playlist is more rock focused than usual, but I threw in a bunch of different other genres to keep it interesting. Today’s running playlist is 1:20 minutes long, so if you are planning to use it for a 10k run, you’ll need to keep a pace of 13:02 min/mile. You Stream Music, Pandora Streams Your Info to Advertisers: Capiche?
Online radio network Pandora provides users with highly curated playlists based on the Music Genome Project, an analysis of more than 400 attributes of a song that make it appealing to your specific ear taste buds. The cost of this pretty incredible service for most folks: nothing at all. Well, nothing at all if you don't consider quietly sharing some of your web habits with advertisers a "cost."
While you're paying zilch to listen to Led Zeppelin Radio, someone is footing the royalty bill -- Pandora, duh. As the service explains in itsFrequently Asked Questions, it collects some personal information from users so it can help its advertisers -- who support the service by paying Pandora cash money -- target consumers that will be useful to them. The explanation for why you tell Pandora your age and gender: "The free version of Pandora is mostly supported by advertisements, and we want to be able to show the most relevant ads to our listeners."
Nothing is relly free on the internet...

Running Playlist: iTunes top 10 BPM analysis: 12-21-2010: Funniest song of the year
Today’s iTunes top 10 list features several new songs. Unfortunately, none of them are really high in BPM so they are not great for a running playlist. When I first saw the I Just Had Sex [Explicit] title, I thought “Wow, this looks like a pretty explicit song”, I then listened to the lyrics, and I don’t know if this is intentional or not, but this song probably qualifies as the funniest song for 2010. I’m assuming the target market for this song are people with the sense of humor of a 13 year old boy, so pretty much every male on the planet… With Lyrics like ”I cried the whole time – Doesn’t matter – Had sex” and “It was the best 30 seconds of my life”, you gotta laugh… Anyway, as usual, I’ve bolded the songs that are good for a running playlist get the list at running playlist
6 Foot 7 Foot comes in at number 1, and then we have a couple more, Coming Home and I Just Had Sex [Explicit]closing the bottom of the list.
