Alternative Rock Running Playlist For Your Running Music Collection ((tag: rock, music, running , runningplaylist)

running playlistrunning playlist

Today I’m posting another alternative rock running playlist for your running music collection.
You may have noticed, there’s a new Metric album out, called Synthetica. I’m still not sure how I feel about it. I really liked their previous album, Fantasies, and I have 3 songs from there on my all time favorite fast running playlist, but I’m still on the fence with the new one and I need to listen to it a few more times to decide how much I like it.

Anyway, as usual, these songs are all over 120 BPM so they are good for running with an average BPM of 143.

Pop Running Music for your Running Playlist

running playlist

Today’s running music for your running playlist is mostly pop music.
I built this list to remember some of the good and not so good songs we had in the top of the charts last year.
I decided to include Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj even though i really don’t like them anymore since they are pretty popular and some of their songs don’t suck as much :)
All these songs are over 120 BPM, so they will fit well in your running playlist, and I also managed to sneak in a country song since technically it was in the pop top 10 at some point last year…

Free Rock Running Music For Your Running Playlist

rock running playlist

I have a lot of running music on my running playlist most times, so when I found this gem, I immediately downloaded all the songs.
The album I’m showcasing today is a sampler of new songs from the Sxsw festival in Austin, TX. It includes songs from bands you won’t usually hear on the radio, and I thought I’d share these so we can all learn about some new cutting edge music.

The list is free on amazon.com (at least when this post was written), but you can also download it from iTunes as well.
I encourage you to explore the whole list, but I included a sample of the higher BPM songs.

More Running Music For Your Running Playlist At 130 BPM

running playlist

I’ve been ver busy lately, training hard for a big run, but I wanted to share some running music for your running playlist so that you have something to listen to while I’m “away”.
I’ve been very disappointed with “The Voice” lately, I’m following “American Idol” and “The Voice” and there is a clear quality divide between the 2. I don’t know if it’s the actual singers or the quality of the microphones or what, but American Idol makes The Voice look like a high school performance. I was sorry to see Elise leave lsat night, but she really deserved it. That Jimmy Hendrix song was probably the worst song she could have picked. It’s a nice song, but way too artsy and weird for the show’s audience.

iTunes top 10 BPM analysis: Running Playlist 2011-08-12

I tried to wait for the “glee effect” to ware off of iTunes before i did this week’s running playlist analysis, but it’s been 2 days and Glee is still strong on the list with 2 new songs We are young and Survivor / I Will Survive.

We also have a new entrant, Red Solo Cup, by Toby Keith which is basically a love song he sings to a a plastic cup… wow, what depth and quality… I guess he has a great marketing team.

iTunes top 10 BPM analysis: Running Playlist 2011-30-11

Well, Thanksgiving is over so hopefully we can stop stuffing our faces for a while and go running with our favorite running playlists, at list until Christmas…

Glee was back on TV last night, so obviously, they need to be represented in the iTunes top 10 this week with Perfect (Glee Cast Version)
I still like the music in the show, but the story is starting to get even more out there than usual and I’m thinking of spending that hour on Tuesday nights elsewhere…

We also have a new entry into the top 10 by T-Pain, 5 O’Clock (Explicit Version), I really like the melody of the song and Lily Allen does have a beautiful voice, but the song is a bit dirty for no reason.

iTunes top 10 BPM analysis: Running Playlist 11-23-2011

This week, there was no “Glee” on TV, so the iTunes top 10 is more “natural”. There were no real new songs to this list, but Katy Perry’s “soamd” made it into the top 10. I actually like this song and have it on my running playlists occasionally.
