Another Fast Running Playlist: 142 BPM Average

Last week, I posted some new songs I added to my personal running playlist and you seemed to like it, so I decided to do another update to the list and add more songs.

I tried to mix things up a little bit and cover as many genres as I could in this list, and I even included a song from the movie “Music & Lyrics” that works in a running playlist. I also added a link that allows you to get the full playlist rather than 1 song at a time, click here for that. (iTunes only, sorry…)

This running playlist is 42 minutes long at 142 BPM.

Running Playlist: iTunes top 10 BPM analysis: 04-20-2011

judas - running playlist

Another week, another iTunes top 10 on running playlist.

This week, we have a new Lady GaGa hit at number 1 – Judas

I can’t say that I really like this song, but I’m sure that after I hear it on the radio for 1000000 times, I’ll be humming it in the shower (Just like with “Born this way” which I still don’t like, but find myself humming on occasion…).

The rest of the list is pretty similar to last week, except that Bruno Mars’ The Lazy Song is in the top 10 this week, which is a surprise, considering that song’s been around for a while.

A fast playlist: 148 BPM average

iTunes, App Store and Mac App Store

I added some new songs to my personal running playlist lately, and I wanted to share them with you. You may have seen a few of them before, but most of them are brand new (to me at least).

This one is a relatively short playlist, at 37 minutes, and it’s great for a short fast run.

Btw, Did you catch Rihanna’s performance last night on american Idol? I can’t say I’m a big Rihanna fan, but she was really good!!

I’m also trying something new today: if you want to get the entire playlist, just click the button below.

Let me know if you like this feature and I’ll try and incorporate it in future playlists I put together if there is demand for it.

One last thing. Japan is really suffering right now, so if you want to help and get some music in return, check out the above banner.

You are awesome!

running playlist iphone app

A little over 2 weeks ago, I launched the running playlist iphone app.
I read all about the competition in the app store and how apps really have to market themselves to get noticed, so I didn’t expect much.

BUT, you really came through!

In the last 2 weeks, the running playlist app was listed as a new and noteworthy app, spent almost the entire time in the top 100 in healthcare and fitness, and even made it to the top 50 for a few days!

I really appreciate the thousands of you who took the time to download the app and try it out!
Best of all, there have already been hundreds if not thousands of downloads of new music through the app (unfortunately Apple doesn’t want to tell me which music was downloaded so I can put more of it in the app…) which means that people are actually using the app and discovering new music!

Once again, thank you for believing in this site and in the app and using it to discover new music for your running playlist.

I have one small request:

For those of you who downloaded the app and liked it, please give my app a 5 rating in the iTunes store. High ratings are really important to help an app get noticed.

If you downloaded it and didn’t like it, please tell me before posting a bad review so I can fix what was wrong. Out of the 10 reviews I have, the 3 bad ones are from people who didn’t read the description and were disappointed when the app didn’t do what their imagination let them believe the app does.

If you want to download the app you can get it here

Running Playlist: iTunes top 10 BPM analysis: 04-13-2011

S&M Remix

This week’s iTunes top 10 is still good for running playlist, although not as good as last week’s. The top 10 is back to normal (i.e. only pop and hip-hop) so we can all sleep in peace knowing the world is safe again… although not having a Glee song on there still makes me wake up in cold sweat sometimes…

We have a new entrant, S&M Remix, which is actually higher on the list than its original version and is probably there due to the power of Britney Spears… We also have a couple of new hip hop songs , Down On Me and Give Me Everything (which has a higher BPM so good to run to).

5k Running Playlist of the week: constant BPM of 160

running playlist 5k

We’re continuing our series of running playlists by BPM with this heart pumping 160 BPM running playlist.

The 160 BPM range is really mostly found in rock and metal music. It’s fast, fun to run with and really energizing, but not too fast so that you run out of breath after 5 minutes. I’ve used this BPM range to break some time and pace PRs and I’m sure you’ll do great with it too.

This list is 44 minutes long, so plenty of time for a 5k, and has an average BPM of 165.

Also, don’t forget to check out the running playlist iPhone app where you can get new songs and running playlists directly to your iPhone.

Running Playlist: iTunes top 10 BPM analysis: 04-06-2011

This week’s iTunes top 10 is great for any running playlist. Most of the songs on this list are high on BPM and the quality ain’t that bad either.
Now that Glee is off the air, there’s a lot more diversity in the list, and I’m happy to say that there’s even a country song in the top 10 for a change,Honey Bee by Blake Shelton.

I can’t really write this post without mentioning Glee again, and I’ve been fooling around on iTunes quite a lot lately, and recently noticed this: Glee: The Music Presents The Warblers. Great way to capitalize on the new sound Glee has to offer, and honestly, I think they were carrying most of the last season, so good for them!

One last thing I want to mention is that Britney has another song in the top 10 –  Till The World Ends. I just noticed the name of her album, Femme Fatale. I have a feeling she needs to get an image makeover… She’s talented enough to sell her music without having to resort to cheap “look at me, I’m sexy” tricks…
