Running Playlist: Amazon top 10 BPM analysis: 11-03-2010 – last one

I’m completely dissapointed with Amazon.com today. Their top 10 list hasn’t changed in the past 5 weeks.

I’m giving up on amazon and I’m not going to waste your time with a repeat of the same list yet again. If you want to see the songs in the top 10, click here for last week’s post.

On a happier note, the VeggieTales Christmas Album occupies most of the slots on the amazon top 20 free songs, so if you’ve always wanted to get this album and never could afford it this is your chance. Click here foramazon top songs, free and paid

Running Playlist: Amazon top 10 BPM analysis: 10-27-2010

running playlist

Yesterday, I posted that I was in running playlist heaven since Taylor Swift had 5 songs in the top 10 list on iTunes. Surprisingly, the Amazon.com customers didn’t see the release of her new album as such a momentous occasion and are still sticking with the same top 10 list as they have kept more or less the same for over 5 weeks.

This is actually an interesting lesson in marketing since it looks like iTunes customers are probably younger and more diverse in their musical taste and Amazon customers are less influenced by albums targeted at a younger market and buy more or less what keeps playing in the top 20 lists on the radio.

Anyway…

Running Playlist: Amazon top 10 BPM analysis: 10-20-2010

running playlist

Our friends at Amazon are still very stable and consistent in their music preferences.
If you built a running playlist out of these songs last week, or the week before that, you can still keep it as is, since the top 10 list on amazon only added one new song (Bottoms Up) which is a slow song at 73 BPM so not really good for running to.

Running Playlist: Amazon top 10 BPM analysis: 10-13-2010

It seems like Amazon customers are very consistent in their music preferences. If you built a running playlist out of these songs, you can still keep it as is, since the top 10 list on amazon has not had more than 1 new song in the past 3 weeks and all that really changed was songs moving up and down the list.

At least Katy Perry is still out…

Running Playlist: Amazon top 10 BPM analysis: 10-06-2010

running playlist

This week’s amazon top 10 list makes me very happy…
It is finally Kary Perry free, so there is still hope for the civilized world of music. We also have a new entrant in the number 1 spot My Best Theory, which comes in at 120 BPM and is a good song for a running playlist.

Running Playlist:Amazon top 10 BPM analysis: 09-29-2010

This week the amazon top 10 is nearly unchanged. The only real change wasClub Can’t Handle Me moving back in at number 8, and it’s a good song for a running playlist.

Running Playlist: Amazon top 10 BPM analysis: 09-22-2010

This week’s Amazon top 10 list has some good changes for your running playlist. First, I’m happy to see Katy Perry drop one more rung to number 10 with Teenage Dream. Hopefully by next week she’ll be out of the top 10.

We also have some new additions to the list, Like A G6Only Girl. Both these songs have a BPM of over 120, which makes them a good addition to a running playlist.

Running Playlist: Amazon top 10 BPM analysis: 09-15-2010

This weeks Amazon top 10 has some changes but not too much good for us runners.

First, I’m happy to announce that “California Gurls” is finally out of the top 10. It was such an annoying song, and it’s good to see that Amazon customers finally got some good taste in music back (even though Teenage Dream is still there… but I’ll take what I can get).

Come And Get It comes in at number 5. The song has a jazzy feel to it and comes in with a BPM of 117, which is not the best for a running playlist, but you could use it for recovery if you like it.

We also have a new entrant at number 10, Dog Days Are Over, but that song has a BPM of 76 which is not great for a running playlist.

Running Playlist: Amazon top 10 BPM analysis: 09-01-2010

We have a much better top 10 list this week at Amazon.

Unfortunately, we still have 2 Katy Perry songs in the top 10, but they are losing ground and dropping in the rankings, so there is some hope for a Kary Perry free list sometime in the future.

We also have the new Taylor Swift song, Mine, at number 8, which is one of my favorite new songs and a new permanent resident in my personal running playlist.

Another great new entrant is Stuck Like Glue. Unfortunatelly, it’s not a great song to add to a running playlist because of its low BPM, but it’s still a fun song to listen to.

I’ve bolded the songs that would make the cut for a jogging playlist.
